THE VOWEL SOUNDS

There are many  types of vowel sounds 

- the pure vowel sounds
  they are simple sounds and they are diphthongs. according to their joint can be:

Rounded: The lips are pushed forward into the shape of a circle. Example sound /ʊ/
Spread: the corners of the lips are moved away from each other , as when smiling. Example sound: /i:/
Neutral: The lips are not noticeably rounded or spread. Example sound: /ə/

-The close vowels
for the close vowels the tongue is quiet high in the mount. moving from /i:/ trought to /u:/, we also notice the diferent positions of the tongue 


-The mid  vowels 
For mid vowels the tongue is neither high nor low in the mouth. Moving from /e/ trough to /ᴐ:/


-The open vowels
for open vowels, the tongue is low in the mouth. Moving from /ᴂ/ trough to /ɒ/ from front to back.










  Reflection:
With this topic I could learn about the types of vowels in the English language is also the diphthongs there are 12 vowels and diphthongs 8 because the study of the vowels is very importan to improve the pronunciation of the language  I learn the position of the tongue in each vowel .
